Rationing the Blame: Is it users of SEO apps or is it Search Engines?
I admit. Before hearing about SEO software and site promotion field, I was of the opinion that Google was the best thing ever. I Used Google to look for anything from celebrities, to photography, to news to obscure objects and blindly trusted the findings. Then I learned about SEO software and a separate e-commerce centered on promoting sites, and my search habits changed. But even before that, having done some reflective musings, I got a hunch that search engines, Google included, know far from all, and divulge to the users a fraction of that.
My Google escapades soon convinced me that Flikr is a better image data bank, that with the help of RSS I can access nice news stories without the need to rummage through Google search findings (rummaging is more descriptive than Google search), and human search is better managed by Facebook. It seems like whenever I look for strange objects on Google, the results are often inaccurate, to put it mildly. Try searching for SEO software and other SEO related subjects on Google and you are just about ready to give up your sanity. I mean, tell me, what’s the connection between SEO applications and career websites or Web casinos? Thanfully, in my distress.
So when news of seo management software and the entire field revolving around it invaded my modest worldview, my suspicions about webpages surfacing out on the top of Google grew exponentially. Do they deserve to be there and whose fault is it, Google or webmasters using SEO applications. The moral dilemma is vast. Do I stop using my SEO google ranking or do I stop using Google instead? I resolved that I can’t boycott Google just yet. At least not until the worthy contender enters the game. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep using my SEO software.
To be honest, SEO software is the reason why folks like me get some visibility online. smart as they are, search engine web bots are unlikely to find some no-name person and index his domain highly. In this respect, I am an unyielding advocate of SEO programs and organic search. If it was all about the money, the corporate businesses would destroy me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of corporations on the Fortune list! But here is something else that irks me and other backlink checker users, I am sure. There are individuals who invest in SEO tools and use them to sell shoeson casino sites and the like. What we are left with is litter that not only pervades the Internet but is also highly indexed by search engines.
What is the public perspective on this? People Google SEO tool reviews and will instead find junk SERPs. They get disappointed. So much for the “Internet democracy”. Does this indicate that SEO software and service industry is bad? Not necessarily.
The abusers of SEO products need to stop polluting the Net but it’s like ordering hackers to stop cracking the code. The bad thing about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the prospect to be visible on the Internet that is offered to the no-name dude like me. For now people just have to tolerate them. We can only wish that Google will put more emphasis on finding the schemers abusing SEO apps, and if Google doesn’t, the new Google will.
